The Middle Daughter’s free-spirited, lively collection is sure to boost spirits this summer. Featuring peplum shapes infused in a bright, refreshing color palette, the pieces this season are bound to catch your eye. Read below to learn more about The Middle Daughter SS21: a fusion of contrast and harmony.

Co-founder Deborah, herself a middle daughter of her family, reveals that her love for the summer season runs deep. “I have a personal besotted-ness with Summer” said Deborah. “As soon as September arrives I’m lamenting and longing. I like to think that that infatuation shines through in this collection. It’s inspiration is purely through finding joy in those elusive summer days and designing styles that evoke that magic.”

The collection emphasizes shapes and movement, with puff sleeves, voluminous tiers, and poplin pieces. Color blocking has become a signature feature of The Middle Daughter – this season, it is complemented with botanical prints and wide stripes.

Our favorite element of this collection is a calming yet remarkable new print, ‘Under The Sea’. Inspired by German naturalist Ernst Haeckel, this unique pastel design features other-worldly illustrations of sea creatures, contrasted by a bright yellow hem on the trim of the dress. This flash of color brings a modern twist to the look, tying together the collection.
