H&M Celebrates Sustainable Fashion in Children’s Collaboration with Whooli Chen

The latest kid’s capsule collection from H&M has arrived just in time to stock up for the fall weather. This new collaboration with Taiwan-based illustrator, Whooli Chen, features illustrations your kids will love – the amazing world of animals, florals, and other nature scenarios. The colour palette is dreamy with paint-like layers a result of pencil-drawn details and digital gradients – creating a beautifully surreal wildlife world!

The collection, available now, offers something for everyone with nature-inspired artwork featured on dresses, cozy hoodies, a jumpsuit, joggers and leggings, with accessories such as a matching rabbit-shaped bag, scrunchies, and beanies in a variety of print techniques and effects.

“I’m always inspired by botany and zoology, but literature is also a constant source of wonder. That sense of storytelling is what I try to bring out in all my illustrations so with the H&M collaboration, I focused on certain animals, flowers and scenes of nature during autumn to capture the minds and hearts of the children wearing the collection. I can’t wait to see and hear about their reactions,” said Whooli Chen.

While the illustrations are, of course, beautiful but we can’t help be even more excited by the approach H&M is taking toward more sustainable fashion! The entire collection is made from more sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, Tencel, cotton sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative and for the first time in kidswear, TexloopTM RCOTTM. A fabric with a high share of recycled cotton, TexloopTM processes high-value cotton waste to create new fabric, preserving the original fiber quality for the next generation of recycled materials.

This capsule marks a new milestone for the retailer, as they’ve incorporated more recycled cotton than ever. The long-sleeve tee, for example, offers the highest ever combination of recycled and sustainably sourced cotton H&M has ever done!

We are so happy to see these practices being adopted and hope that H&M will continue to incorporate these sustainable manufacturing practices in even more collections!

These pieces are sure to sell out quick, check out the offering HERE
