Every intricately hand-embroidered piece from MAIRIK holds a story. MAIRIK, meaning “mother” in Armenian, is the creation of designer Janet Karapetian, who aims to revive and preserve the symbolic embroidery styles of her country. Using 2,000 year old embroidery techniques along with a few modern day updates, Karapetian employs Armenian women and Syrian Armenian refugees skilled in this ancient craft.
