The new Fall/Winter season hits the stores just in-time for back-to-school shopping and we’re excited to take a first peak and hear more from Bianca about all that inspires Agatha Cub in today’s Q&A! What inspired the name of your label?
A childhood puppy friend named Agatha.
Why did you choose to design for children?
When my two nephews were born, I was at a cross-roads in my career as a womenswear designer. The love I felt for them inspired it all!
What are the motivations or inspirations behind the design?
The world around us, without the stereotypes. All our prints are original photographs from my travels and are open to interpretation. Is there a style decade that you are inspired by?
The 90’s. Cool, effortless streetwear.
What makes your label stand out in the industry?
Our original prints! How does your design process differ when designing for boys vs. girls?
It doesn’t. We do not assign genders to our styles or colors because we believe that everything should be on the table, always. There are no rules here, and certainly no stereotypes or gender discrimination!
What do you have coming up that you are really excited about?
We are excited about a pop-up shop in NYC in August and also introducing a new mascot inspired by our Jack Russell/Chihuahua pup; Bodhi. We love him so much and it just makes so much sense that he will lead the team! What is your favorite piece from your current collection?
Our retro runners shorts from Spring/Summer 15.
