H&M’s newest fashion collaboration with British fine artist Kate Morgan is a vibrant fantasy jungle complete with exotic wildlife including toucans, tigers, flamingos, leopards, butterflies, frogs, and more. Morgan’s imaginative prints are featured on an array of children’s clothing and accessories from t-shirts to swimwear with a focus on laidback, kid-friendly looks and easy breezy silhouettes. The Kate Morgan Studio x H&M collection and will be available in select stores worldwide as well as hm.com starting in late April.
“It was really fun to work with H&M on this collaboration, especially since it’s the first time my art has been translated into a whole clothing collection,” said Kate Morgan. “I also really love the fact that it’s a kids range because when I grew up, I was fascinated with wildlife and animals, so I hope that these pieces will also intrigue the kids and get them interested in natural history. If I can inspire or spark that interest, that would be fantastic.”
Using watercolors as her medium, Morgan’s colorful prints feature a variety of nature motifs to form a cohesive collection. Animals are set amongst lush foliage and tropical flowers, and the prints are showcased on apparel including tops, trousers, dresses, shorts, playsuits, and swimsuits.
The collection uses lightweight fabrics perfect for spring and summer, including cotton jersey, fluid chiffons, and reversible sequins for a bit of sparkle. Cap sleeves, ruffled necklines, and handkerchief hemlines also lend to the casual and contemporary feel of the collection. Accessories include sandals & pool shoes, twill caps, and bow hairbands.
The collection will be available in select H&M stores and online later this month at www.hm.com.
