In honour of September’s National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Bloomingdale’s of 59th Street hosted Runway Heroes, a fashion show event in support of childhood cancer initiatives. A group of 23 childhood cancer fighters and survivors, aged two-twelve, took to the runway to benefit two leading paediatric cancer organizations – Solving Kids’ Cancer and The Ronan Thompson Foundation.
Keeping the children energized and excited as they walked the runway was 12-year-old DJ Fulano, with a masterful mix of tunes, as well as Actress and Singer Celia Babini who was the event’s emcee. Both tweens act as Young Ambassadors for Solving Kids’ Cancer.
Bloomingdales generously donated an outfit of his or her choice to each child who participated in the show, including awesome brands like Burberry and Chloe. TOMS also provided a pair of shoes matching each child’s outfit. Completing each look were accents from Clinique’s makeup counter, making sure the children looked their best!
The fun-filled event featured a delicious cookie bar, mini photo booth and magician! The biggest highlight – throughout the weekend 10% of all department purchases benefited these awesome children’s charities.
We are happy Felicia McGowan was able to attend the event and capture some of the fun in photos!
