What inspired the name of your label?
It’s my edit, all the basics you need for Baby, Child, Mother + Home in one place. Luxury basics, made from Organic cotton and Merino Wool. This is our first season so it’s also our edit in that the collection is quite small, we’ve edited it down to the essentials.

Why did you choose to design for children?
I have 3 children under 5 years, and another due in a few weeks, everything I design starts out for them. It’s based on the things they’re interested in, the books they’re reading or the clothes that I would love for them but can’t find, so I design it myself,

What is your brand’s mission statement or goal?
I don’t so much have a mission statement, but my goal is to create clothes that are of the highest quality, made from organic cotton and merino wool. Clothes and homewares that are unsex, so the can be passed down from child to child.

What are the motivations or inspirations behind the designs?
Always my children.

Is there a style decade you are inspired by?
Mid-century modern

What makes your label stand out in the industry?
The quality is amazing! I buy a lot of organic and merino for my own children, but I have found the highest quality manufacturers who source and create the softest fabrics for our range. The benefits of merino and organic cotton go way beyond the soft factor, there really just isn’t anything better for our children or the environment. Also all my designs are either hand drawn or painted by myself, so you won’t find the fabrics or illustrations anywhere else.

How does your design philosophy change when creating for boys vs girls?
I try and design pieces that are unisex, so they can be passed down to siblings, but I’m finding that I have a few more girly pieces coming into my collection with our new little girl due in 5 weeks. Our new Merino Bear Hats for example, I decided to add them in pink for her.

What do you have coming up that you are really excited about?
I can’t help it but I’m always excited about the next season. It’s so hard not to share photos from our editorial until release date, next season is expanding on styles for Mothers. As a Mum it’s such a treat to be able to wear the same gorgeous organic cotton as our children. It’s more than just a stylish option for twinning with your kids, the clothes are so comfy you will want to wear them every day, they’re easy to dress up or down and go with everything.

What is/are your favourite item/s from the current collection?
The Merino Bear Jumpers, anything in our Organic Cotton Artist print and our Merino Hats. The Grey & Inky colours I’ve chosen go with everything. Plus there is nothing softer and warmer than merino wool when it’s cold, merino naturally insulates and regulates body temperature. And so cute with those pompoms!
